Since European settlement only 1% of native grasslands remain in Victoria, a growing awareness of the need to  protect our natural environment, and restore native ecosystems is driving the shift towards using native grass species in many projects. Environmental managers are increasingly recognising the unique benefits that only Hydromulching and Hydroseeding can provide, including significant savings in labour and materials and the ability to work with challenging native seed varieties such as fine seed and florets. Hydromulching and Hydroseeding plays a key role in conservation efforts by enhancing biodiversity, stabilising soil, and reducing the environmental footprint of civil and construction projects. With spray cannons and long-reach hoses, we can access difficult terrain with minimal disruption to fragile ecosystems.

HydroGrass has the expertise, resources, and dedicated seed bank and native nursery to undertake even the most demanding revegetation and conservation projects. Our in-house seed supply ensures we use locally sourced, high-quality native seed that is tailored to each specific environment. In addition, we work closely with other trusted native seed suppliers to ensure we have access to the correct and most suitable seed for each project. We collaborate with environmental and horticultural experts to develop customized, cost-effective solutions that support sustainable land management and conservation objectives. Our approach helps restore native habitats, ensuring the best outcomes for both the environment and our clients.

Typical applications:

  • mine/ Quarry rehabilitation
  • Landfill rehabilitation
  • Post logging revegetation
  • Bushfire recovery,
  • Farm dam and wetland revegetation.
  • Creek and river restoration
